Amnesty International European Union Office

 

is recruiting a 

Regional EU Affairs Officer

 

for Amnesty International advocacy in relation to the new EU member states in Central and Eastern Europe, with particular focus on Poland.

 

It will be a position for 2 years, based in Warsaw and involving frequent travel in the region.

 

Main responsibilities:

 

Ø       supporting AI Poland and AI branches in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary in building their lobby and advocacy work

Ø       representing Amnesty’s EU objectives to the governments in the Visegrad countries

 

Applicants must have:

 

Ø       background in international relations, the EU and its role in the world

Ø       at least four years of relevant working experience

Ø       familiarity with the role of NGOs

Ø       knowledge of and commitment to human rights

 

Also required are sound political judgment, strong communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and pressures, fluent Polish and English as a minimum.

 

Deadline for applications 13 September, interviews 22 September in Warsaw.
